Using the Scan ToolVIEWING SRS DTCs• If the vehicle does not support SRScommunication, an advisory messageshows on the Scan Tool’s display. Pressthe button to return to theEnhanced Main Menu.3. To read the display:Refer to DISPLAY FUNCTIONS onpage 8 for a description of LCDdisplay elements.• A visible icon indicates that the Scan Tool is being poweredthrough the vehicle’s DLC connector.• A visible icon indicates that theScan Tool is linked to (communicatingwith) the vehicle’s computer.• The upper right hand corner of thedisplay shows the number of the codecurrently being displayed, the totalnumber of codes retrieved.• The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)and related code definition are shownin the lower section of the LCD display.I/M MONITOR STATUS icons are not displayed when viewingSRS DTCs.In the case of long code definitions, a small arrow is shown inthe upper/lower right-hand corner of the code display area toindicate the presence of additional information. Use the UPand DOWN buttons, as necessary, to view theadditional information.• The Scan Tool will display a code only ifcodes are present in the vehicle’scomputer memory. If no codes arepresent, a "No SRS DTC’s are presentlystored in the vehicle’s computer" isdisplayed. Press the button toreturn to the Enhanced Main Menu.4. If more than one code was retrieved press the button, asnecessary, to display additional codes one at a time.• Whenever the Scroll function is used to view additional codes,the Scan Tool’s communication link with the vehicle’s computerdisconnects. To re-establish communication, press the POWER/LINK button again.5. When the last retrieved DTC has been displayed and thebutton is pressed, the Scan Tool returns to the Enhanced Main Menu.• To exit the enhanced mode, press the button.
