No adjustment will be allowed for the low temperature grade because of traffic speed orvolumeThe Contractor shall prepare a quality control plan outlining the steps taken to minimizesegregation of HBP. This plan shall be submitted to the Engineer and approved prior tobeginning the paving operations. When the Engineer determines that segregation isunacceptable, the paving shall stop and the cause of segregation shall be corrected beforepaving operations will be allowed to resume.The top layer of HBP shall not contain any reclaimed asphalt pavement. Layers below the toplayer shall not contain more than 15 percent reclaimed asphalt pavement. The reclaimedasphalt pavement shall meet the requirements for subsection 703.04.The contractor shall use an approved anti-stripping additive. The type and amount may beeither of the following:Liquid Additive – The amount of additive used shall be a minimum of 0.5 percent by weight ofthe asphalt cement. The additive shall be added at the refinery or at the hot plant. If the liquidanti-stripping additive is added at the plant, an approved in-line blender must be used. Theblender shall be in the line from the storage tank to the drier drum or pug mill. The blender shallapply sufficient action to thoroughly mix the asphalt cement and anti-stripping additive.Larimer County Rural Area Road Standards Page D-17October 22, 2007
