Chapter 12 – Right of Way Permitting and Construction Standards for Facilities Located in Public Right of WaySection 12.2 Permit Application Process12.1.4.2 End of Day Lane Conditionsa. ASPHALT <strong>ROAD</strong> - When work is stopped for the day, all lanes of an arterialor collector road shall be opened to traffic unless approved by the Engineer.A traffic lane shall be considered satisfactorily open only if it is paved with hotor cold mix asphalt paving, except when an alternative temporary surface isallowed by the County as a condition of the permit.b. CONCRETE <strong>ROAD</strong> - When work is stopped for the day, all lanes of anarterial or collector road shall be opened for traffic. A traffic lane shall beconsidered satisfactorily open only if it is surfaced with a temporary asphaltsurface. In the event the road surface has been replaced in the same day asthe excavation was made, the repaired areas should be properly barricadedto protect the concrete during the curing stage.12.1.4.3 Inspection RequestsIt shall be the responsibility of the person performing the work authorized by thepermit to notify the Engineer that such work is ready for inspection. The Engineerrequires that every request for inspection be received at least twenty-four (24) hoursbefore such inspection is desired. Such requests may be in writing or by telephoningor faxing the Engineer.12.1.4.4 Minimum Concrete Removals / ReplacementsRemoval and replacement shall be to existing joints.12.1.4.5 Road ClosuresRoad closures will only be allowed at the approval of the Engineer.12.1.5 Permit FeesThe County’s permit fees are established under appropriate enabling resolutions and/orordinances and are subject to change periodically. A complete fee schedule for LarimerCounty can be found on the County’s website.http://www.larimer.org/engineering/index.htmAn additional fee may be charged for any excavation work that may affect the accuracyof the County’s Survey Monumentation System.12.1.6 Insurance RequirementsThe Permit Applicant is required to submit certificates of insurance for CommercialGeneral Liability and Automobile Liability.
