Avoid weakening or destroying the existing pavement around an excavation withheavy construction equipment, stockpiling or delivery of materials, etc. Whendamage does occur, remove the damaged pavement, extending the limits of theroad repair, before replacing the pavement. Remember, no stockpiling of backfillor road building materials is permitted on the pavement.a.
