This would beachieved by the commitment to energy efficiency, water conservation, recycling, andproviding cycle storage facilities.8.239 The strategy highlights how the development achieves the sustainability objectives ofnational, regional and local sustainability policies. The features of the ProposedDevelopment would include: The Applicant seeks to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Code Level 4. BREEAM 2011 rating of ‘Excellent’ is targeted for the Rennie Street Building(hotel) and ‘Very Good’ for the Podium Building (retail & residential facilities); The energy strategy is designed to achieve exemplar regulated CO2 reductions,with an expected site-wide improvement of ~25% over Part L 2010 of theBuilding Regulations; On-site low and zero carbon energy generation is proposed by theimplementation of a PV array CHP engines; Water efficient devices would be installed to reduce water consumption in linewith the London Plan and Code for Sustainable Homes / BREEAM targets;Page 52PLANNING POLICY ASSESSMENT
