Take the NEGATIVE lead from he battery and splice it into the BLACK wire (in thecable). To make sure the battery won't run down (when the transceiver is'nt keyed) you must take take mic plug apart and putthe wire that is on pin #7 (witch is the mic ground and put it with the wire on pin #5 witch is the PTT ).One last thing, with this MOD be sure to take the wire off pin #2 (witch is the red wire that would normally apply 8volts from anICOM transceiver).
