4.3 If an aircraft carries ADS-B transmitting equipage which does not comply withthe requirements of paragraph 4.1 or 4.2, the aircraft shall not fly unless theequipage is:(a)(b)deactivated; orset to transmit only a value of zero for the Navigation UncertaintyCategory (NUC P ) or Navigation Integrity Category (NIC).5. Additional Information5.1 GNSS ReceiverAs Selective Availability (SA) aware and Fault Detection and Exclusion (FDE)functionalities will improve accuracy and integrity to the position source ofADS-B, the forward fitment of these functionalities to new aircraft is highlyrecommended.5.2 Operational ApprovalCompliance with the design requirements and standards of this Notice does notconstitute an operational approval. EASA Acceptable Means of ComplianceAMC 20-24 shall be used as the reference acceptance criteria for granting theADS-B operational approval by the Director-General.6.
