The UKCAA intends that where aSpecification is issued in the JAR-TSO series, and the UKCAA finds that itadequately covers the subject matter and applicability of one of the UKCAASpecifications here, it will then withdraw the UKCAA AirworthinessSpecification.15 Master Minimum Equipment Lists (MMEL)15.1 The MMEL defines those systems and items of equipment which may beunserviceable at the commencement of a flight. UKCAA Civil AviationPublication CAP549 defines and explains the UKCAA policy in regard toMMELs and provides guidelines for manufacturers in the preparation of anMMEL.15.2 The aircraft types, registered in Hong Kong, for which there are currentlyUKCAA approved MMELs are listed in the Publications area of the UKCAAwebsite at www.caa.co.uk.
