Training ContentTraining materials are specified through the Institute of Education. Some of these materials asmentioned by English supervisors themselves are theoretical, old, and unsuitable for traineeshence, supervisors do their best to adapt and modify these materials to suit their trainees‟needs. Appendix (19) shows the training topics included in 2007-2008 and 2008- 2009training programme.4. Training TechniquesMost of the training techniques used are similar to those used within other trainingprogrammes in other specializations. However, the most common training techniques used asmentioned by the trainers, or the activity leaders -as termed by EDC- in the interviewinvolve lecturing and demonstration lessons.5. Trainees’ EvaluationEvaluating trainees is done in the same way adopted in other training programmes run by theEDC -as explained before in page 113- including periodic tests, field visits, writtenexaminations and research papers.To sum up, the previous paragraphs provided a detailed description of the programmecontext, main aims, components and features in general. A special attention was given toEnglish INSET in particular. These descriptions have been used to answer the first questionin the study.- 114 -
