Also, Remeirs (2003, p. 11) clarifiesthat INSET includes formal experience such as attending workshops courses as well asinformal experience as reading publication and watching T.V documentaries. Similarly,Ganser (2000) states that INSET is also a broader concept which includes both formal and"informal activities as reading professional publications meeting, and television watching".For Ganser, " make and take workshops of 1960-1970 are no longer beneficial" (p.5).2.2.2 Continuity of INSETThe innovative trend shows that INSET is a continuous life-long learning process in whicheducators must engage to keep abreast of recent changes. A good deal of INSET definitionsattempted describing INSET as a continuous life long process leaving behind one-shottraditional trend. (Conco, 2005; Bayrakci, 2009; Frazer et al., 2007; OBrein, 2009; Imijinda,2007).An example of such definitions is the one introduced by Abed-Haleem (2008, p.58) whodefines INSET as: "An evolving process of professional self disclosure, reflection andgrowth that yields best results when sustained over time ". In a similar vein, Hammound andMacluaghlin (1996, p.203) define professional development as "deepening teacher'sunderstanding about teaching and learning process which must begin with pre-serviceeducation and continue throughout teacher's career”.2.2.3 Systematic and Intentional ProcessThis quality implies that INSET is not a haphazard process, it is a planned, purposeful, and anintentional process designed to achieve specific clear goals.
