Growth RequestsInitiative: Courier and delivery van to deliver intra-offi ce mail, small packages, and Board of Education (BOE) materialsCurrent Funding Formula:To provide courier service, which includes materials to schools andspecial deliveries, the following formula has been developed basedon current traffi c conditions, volume carried and driving distances. Theimportant parts in this formula are the required time to sort mail and packthe vehicle for the route and the distance schools are located from RockQuarry Road. It takes a minimum of one and one half hours each day tosort and pack the vehicles. Distance and traffi c impact delivery times. Wecurrently average 39.25 stops per driver each day. Each driver has sixand one half hours daily travel time. This allows ten minutes per stop.Formula: number of stops x 10 minutes per stop = total time (max 390minutes)We have 1,560 minutes of delivery time available. Currently our requireddelivery time totals 1,600 minutes. We will add at least nine new stopsnext year for at least another 90 minutes of delivery time.
