Growth RequestsInitiative: Internal Audit DepartmentCurrent Funding Formula:There is not a funding formula for internal audit positions. However, dueto the projected growth in the system, both in the number of schoolsand in the number of programs, an additional senior administrator will beneeded. There are 150 schools in the system and it takes approximately3.5 days to conduct an individual school audit, assuming that there are noserious problems identifi ed. This translates into a need for one position.The department has also experienced a large number of special requestsin the past calendar year, as the result of fi nancial irregularities that havebeen initially identifi ed by management and through the fraud hotline.
