George Gkotsis is a PhD student at the Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics Department, University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Patras. He works as a research collaborator at the E-learning Sector <strong>of</strong> the Research Academic<br />

Computer Technology Institute, Patras, Greece. He holds a M.Sc. from the Computer Engineering and<br />

In<strong>for</strong>matics Department, University <strong>of</strong> Patras (2005), where he got his Diploma (2002). His research<br />

interests are on collaboration, argumentation systems, knowledge management and visualization, <strong>Web</strong><br />

engineering and hypertext.<br />

Evelyn Gullett previously taught at the Department <strong>of</strong> Business and Technology, <strong>Web</strong>ster University,<br />

St. Louis, Missouri in the U.S. She combines her teaching experience with more than 23 years <strong>of</strong><br />

international work experience in areas such as human resources management and recruitment, training<br />

and development, account management, sales and customer service support, marketing, research analysis,<br />

strategic planning, project management and consulting. Her research interests include e-learning,<br />

organisational behaviour, change and development, work relationships, leadership application, coaching,<br />

cultural diversity, training and development as well as qualitative research. Dr. Gullett has worked on<br />

projects in various industries ranging from international hotel and tourism management, airline services,<br />

retail, call centers, hospital administration, education and the federal government. Dr. Gullett received<br />

her PhD in Human and Organizational Systems, a business behavioural science degree, from The Fielding<br />

Graduate University, Santa Barbara, Cali<strong>for</strong>nia. She holds an MA in Organizational Development<br />

and earned her MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management (focus on M&A) and BA<br />

in Human Resource Development from Hawaii Pacific University.<br />

Thanasis Hadzilacos, 55, is a pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mation Systems at the Open University <strong>of</strong> Cyprus<br />

where he directs the graduate program in In<strong>for</strong>mation Systems. Until September 2007 he was Dean<br />

<strong>of</strong> Science and Technology at the Hellenic Open University where he served as associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />

s<strong>of</strong>tware engineering, directed the Open and Distance Laboratory <strong>for</strong> Educational Material and Educational<br />

Methodology, the graduate course on In<strong>for</strong>mation Systems and the undergraduate Computer<br />

Science course. Educated at Harvard, USA, he had substantial industrial experience be<strong>for</strong>e joining<br />

Computer Technology Institute in 1986, where he continues as a researcher with the responsibility <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Educational Technology and the e-<strong>Learning</strong> Sectors and R&D Unit III “Applied In<strong>for</strong>mation Systems”.<br />

During 1996-2001 he designed and managed the Greek national project “Odysseia” <strong>for</strong> the utilization<br />

<strong>of</strong> In<strong>for</strong>mation and Communication Technologies in secondary education. He has served as a member<br />

<strong>of</strong> the Council <strong>of</strong> Europe working group <strong>for</strong> Teaching and <strong>Learning</strong> in the Communication Society and<br />

the Greek national representative to E.U. DG Education and Culture <strong>for</strong> building the European portal<br />

on educational opportunities.<br />

Nory B. Jones (PhD), is an associate pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Management In<strong>for</strong>mation Systems and Director <strong>of</strong><br />

Graduate Programs at the University <strong>of</strong> Maine Business School. She received her PhD in In<strong>for</strong>mation<br />

Systems from the University <strong>of</strong> Missouri-Columbia. Her research interests include knowledge management,<br />

collaborative technologies, and organizational learning.
