The announcer credited both composers atthe end of the show: "The music was composed and conducted by Lyn Murray andBernard Herrmann." Well, while Herrmann's handwriting is evident in pages 17 thru 35,a theme or two in the first 16 pages are there (as in the Herrmann's verified section). Soeither Herrmann adapted Murray's material to some extent (and added new themes likethat Vivo motif), or Herrmann composed it all but Murray orchestrated the first 16 pagesfor some reason, or ????156
Below is another image from "A Man's Mother." Herrmann always flirted with theconcept of self-borrowing, and indeed this is another delightful example. It was notbeneath him to do so in this case either. Can anyone guess where he later used thismusic??
