The violins and violas play Bminor 2nd inversion whole note chord (F#/B/D) as the VC/CB descend quarter notesB-Bb-A-Ab to (Bar 6) G whole note rinforzando (accented or heavily emphasized). Thepiano/harp/horns/strings etc play either the G maj 6 chord (G/Bb/D/E) or the E halfdiminishedchord (E/G/Bb/D). Then the trombones play the Hanging Tree motif, D 8thnote up to G and D (octave higher) D 8th to D (s<strong>am</strong>e pitch) quarter note tied toquarter-dot note (quarter note dotted) next bar, followed by descending 8th notes C to Bbto G to G quarter note tied to whole note in Bar 8.61
