Design approval by the district business mail entry manager is not required, butit is re<strong>com</strong>mended.1.2 RatesEach piece in a CMM mailing is subject to the Presorted Regular or NonprofitSt<strong>and</strong>ard Mail nondestination entry basic nonletter rate plus the residual shapesurcharge. CMM pieces are not eligible for any discount including the parcelbarcode discount in 443.5.5. CMM pieces are not subject to the nonmachinablesurcharge for letters.1.3 Extra ServicesCMM is not eligible for any extra service.1.4 <strong>Preparation</strong> St<strong>and</strong>ards1.4.1 All MailingsAll mailings <strong>and</strong> all pieces in each mailing prepared as Customized MarketMail(CMM) are subject to specific preparation st<strong>and</strong>ards in 1.4 <strong>and</strong> to these generalst<strong>and</strong>ards:a. All pieces must meet the st<strong>and</strong>ards for basic eligibility in 243.2.0 through243.4.0 in Rates <strong>and</strong> Eligibility <strong>and</strong> specific eligibility in 246.2.0 through 246.5.0in Enter <strong>and</strong> Deposit. Nonprofit St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail pieces must meet the additionaleligibility st<strong>and</strong>ards in 703.1.0.b. CMM pieces must not be part of a mailing containing any other type ofSt<strong>and</strong>ard Mail pieces.c. Each mailing must meet the applicable st<strong>and</strong>ards for mail preparation in245.1.0 <strong>and</strong> 245.2.0 <strong>and</strong> the following:1. Subject to the marking st<strong>and</strong>ards in 202, Regular St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail piecesmust be marked “Presorted St<strong>and</strong>ard” (or “PRSRT STD”) <strong>and</strong> NonprofitSt<strong>and</strong>ard Mail pieces must be marked “Nonprofit Organization” (or“Nonprofit Org.” or “Nonprofit”). All pieces must also be marked“Customized MarketMail,” “CUST MKTMAIL,” or “CMM.”2. At the mailer’s option, a carrier route information line under 708.6.0 may beadded. If this option is used, a carrier route code must be applied to everypiece in the mailing <strong>and</strong> must be applied using CASS-certified software<strong>and</strong> the current <strong>USPS</strong> Carrier Route File scheme, printed Carrier RouteFiles, or another AIS product containing carrier route information, subjectto 509.1.0, Address Information System Products, <strong>and</strong> 708.3.0, CodingAccuracy Support System (CASS). Carrier route information must beupdated within 90 days before the mailing date.d.
