<strong>705</strong><strong>Advanced</strong> <strong>Preparation</strong>: Cotraying <strong>and</strong> Cosacking Bundles of Automation <strong>and</strong> Presorted Flats<strong>705</strong>.9.3.2b. Pieces in the automation rate mailing must meet the criteria for a flat under301.3.0. Pieces in the Presorted rate mailing must meet the criteria for a flatunder 301.1.1.c. The automation rate mailing must meet the eligibility criteria in 343.7.0, exceptthat the sacking <strong>and</strong> documentation criteria in 9.3.1, 9.3.4, <strong>and</strong> 9.3.5 must bemet rather than the sacking <strong>and</strong> documentation criteria in 345.7.0.d. The Presorted rate mailing must meet the eligibility criteria in 343.2.0 <strong>and</strong>343.3.0, except that the sacking <strong>and</strong> documentation criteria in 9.3.1, 9.3.4,<strong>and</strong> 9.3.5 must be met rather than the sacking <strong>and</strong> documentation criteria in345.5.0.e. The rates for pieces in the automation rate mailing are applied based on thenumber of pieces in the bundle <strong>and</strong> the level of bundle to which they are sortedunder 343.7.0. The rates for pieces in the Presorted rate mailing are based onthe number of pieces in the bundle <strong>and</strong> the level of sack in which they areplaced under 343.3.6 <strong>and</strong> 343.3.7.f. The pieces must be marked according to 302.g. The bundles prepared from the automation rate mailing <strong>and</strong> the bundlesprepared from the Presorted rate mailing must be sorted into the same sacksas described in 9.3.4 <strong>and</strong> 9.3.5.h. A <strong>com</strong>plete, signed postage statement(s), using the correct <strong>USPS</strong> form or anapproved facsimile, must ac<strong>com</strong>pany each mailing job prepared under theseprocedures. In addition to the applicable postage statement, documentationproduced by PAVE-certified software or st<strong>and</strong>ardized documentation under708.1.0 must be submitted with each cosacked mailing job that describes foreach sack sortation level the number of pieces qualifying for each applicableautomation rate <strong>and</strong> the number of pieces qualifying for each applicablePresorted rate.i. Barcoded sack labels under 708.6.0 must be used to label the sacks.9.3.2 Bundle <strong>Preparation</strong>Except for mail prepared under the cobundling option in 9.3.3, the automation ratemailing must be bundled <strong>and</strong> labeled under 345.7.0 <strong>and</strong> the Presorted rate mailingmust be bundled <strong>and</strong> labeled under 345.5.0. Loose packing under 345.5.0 is notpermitted.9.3.3 Optional Cobundling <strong>Preparation</strong>As an option to the basic bundling requirements in 9.3.2, a mailer may choose tocobundle automation rate <strong>and</strong> Presorted rate flat-size pieces, subject to theconditions in 11.0.9.3.4 Sacking Under 125-Piece or 15-Pound RulesWhen the minimum quantity of 125 pieces or 15 pounds of mail is specified for asack sortation level in 9.3.5, the provisions of 345.7.5.3 apply.Domestic Mail Manual Updated 3-15-07
