<strong>705</strong><strong>Advanced</strong> <strong>Preparation</strong>: Combined Mailings of St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail <strong>and</strong> Package Services Parcels<strong>705</strong>.5.4.2a specific mailing. The Customer Mail Report must list each customer by name<strong>and</strong> provide the following information about their mail: rate affixed, mailcategory including postage payment type, weight, total postage, postageaffixed, number of pieces, cumulative number of pieces, number of piecesrejected, <strong>and</strong> total pieces fed.5.4.2 Permit ImprintTo prepare the postage statement for permit imprint pieces, the mailer multiplies thenumber of such pieces qualifying for each rate level (<strong>and</strong>, for First-Class Mail, ineach weight increment) (as documented by the mailer) by the corresponding rate.The result is the net postage due for the permit imprint part of the <strong>com</strong>bined mailing.If the mailing contains nonidentical-weight permit imprint pieces, the postagestatement must be so annotated.5.4.3 <strong>Postage</strong> AffixedIn <strong>com</strong>pleting the separate postage statements for postage-affixed pieces:a. Multiply the number of pieces at each rate level (which, for First-Class Mail, aretreated as weighing 1 ounce or less, regardless of actual weight) by thecorresponding rate of postage. The product is the postage due beforeadjustments are made for the value of postage affixed to those pieces.b. Multiply the amount of postage (or, for First-Class Mail only, first ounce postage)affixed by the number of pieces at each amount, to determine the total postagealready paid.c. Set the amount paid against the amount due to find the postage to be paid byor to the mailer for the postage-affixed pieces.5.4.4 Reporting ResultsAny additional postage due is paid through the mailer’s advance deposit account for<strong>com</strong>bined mailings. A “value added” refund of any overpayment of meter postagemay be requested under 604.9.0.6.0 Combining Mailings of St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail <strong>and</strong>Package Services Parcels6.1 Combined Machinable Parcels—DBMC Entry6.1.1 Combining Machinable Parcels—DBMC Entry[4-13-06] Mailers may <strong>com</strong>bine St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail <strong>and</strong> Package Services machinableparcels for entry at a BMC when authorized by the <strong>USPS</strong> under 6.1.5. Theseparcels may be eligible for St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail, Parcel Post, Parcel Select DBMC/ASF,single-piece <strong>and</strong> Presorted Media Mail, single-piece <strong>and</strong> Presorted Library Mail,Bound Printed Matter DBMC, <strong>and</strong> single-piece <strong>and</strong> Presorted Bound Printed Matterrates. Mailers may not <strong>com</strong>bine Carrier Route Bound Printed Matter with otherparcels.6.1.2 Basic St<strong>and</strong>ards[4-13-06] St<strong>and</strong>ard Mail <strong>and</strong> Package Services parcels must meet the followingconditions:Domestic Mail Manual Updated 3-15-07
