The safetynet underneath the suicidal path within the model represents the continuity of carerequired and obliged by the Army to provide those individuals at risk for suicide. Itstarts with awareness of the impact and magnitude of suicide within the Army. Itcontinues with training, education, and ensuring constant vigilance of those whomight be at risk for suicide. As the risks increases, so does the level of required care,including referrals to professional gatekeepers and if appropriate, in-patient care untilassurance of problem resolution.
