No. 1 <strong>East</strong> <strong>African</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>Customs</strong> <strong>Management</strong> 2005then such magistrate may by warrant under his or her hand authorisesuch officer to enter upon and search, with such force as may benecessary and by day or by night, such premises and to seize and carryaway any uncustomed goods or documents relating to any uncustomedgoods found therein.(2) An officer in possession of a search warrant may require anypolice officer to assist him or her in the execution of such warrant andany police officer so required shall render assistance accordingly.Power to require production of books, etc.159.---(1) Where-(a) information has been given to the proper officer that anygoods have been, or are intended to be, smuggled, orundervalued, or dealt with in any way contrary to this <strong>Act</strong>;orPower torequireproductionofbooks,etc.(b) any thing or goods have been seized under this <strong>Act</strong>, theproper officer may require the owner of the goods or thingto immediately produce all books and documents, whetherin written form or on micro-film, magnetic tape or any otherform of mechanical or electronic data retrieval mechanismrelating in any way thereto, or to any other goods imported,exported, carried coastwise, manufactured, purchased, soldor offered for sale by that owner within a period of fiveyears immediately preceding the requirement.(2) On the production of such books or documents the properofficer may inspect and take copies of any entries in the books ordocuments; and the proper officer may seize and detain any such bookor document if, in his or her opinion, it may afford evidence of thecommission of an offence under this <strong>Act</strong>.PART XIIIMANUFACTURING UNDER BOND160.-(1) The Commissioner may, on application and subject to suchconditions as the Commissioner may impose, issue a licence in theprescribed form to any person to manufacture goods under bond inspecified premises; and the Commissioner may refuse to issue aLicensingofbondedfactories107
