PHARMACEUTICAL IMPORTANCE :Isoxazoles shows various biological activities which are shown below.1. Antiviral 4342. Herbicidal 4353. Nematocidal 4364. Anticonvulsant 4375. Central muscle relaxing 4386. Neuroleptic 4397. Anticholestermic 440B.Victor441 have reported antipyretic antiarthitic and immunoregulatingactivities of some Isoxazole derivatives. Herbicidal activity of some isoxazoles havebeen reported by Alfred et al. 442 and fungicidal activity observed by Mackie et al. 443Some Isoxazole derivatives have been prepared which showed broad spectrum ofphysiological properties viz. antitumor 444 , antileukemia 445 , antiinflammatory 446 ,antimicrobial 447 and anthelmintic 448 activities.Moreover Isoxazole have been prepared which showed broad spectrum ofactivities viz. antitumor 449 anthelmitic 450 antiinflammatory 451 antimicrobial 452antileukemia 453 and herbicidal 454 . Recently, Isoxazole derivatives possessingfungicidal 455 and herbicidal 456 properties are also reported. Rajeev Jain et al. 457prepared isoxazoles are hypoglycemic agents. Inani et al. 458 synthesised isoxazolesas an inflammation inhibitors and analgesics agents. A.R. Parikh 459 and coworkershave prepared isoxazoles as an antimicrobial agents. Masui et al. 460 have preparedisoxazoles having pesticidal activity. Some excellent herbicidal results obtained byReddy et al. 461 Moreover, isoxazoles found to possess remarkable anxiolytic andantihypertensive effect, reported by Nyitrai et al. 462 Mishra et al. 463 have synthesisedand reported isoxazoles as useful agents for analgesic and antiinflammatoryactivities.
