changed. The experience of Christians in these days is much like the travels of ancientIsrael. Please read 1 Corinthians 10, especially from the 6th to the 15th verse:“Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evilthings, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it iswritten, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.... Neither let us temptChrist, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmurye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all thesethings happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition,upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standethtake heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common toman: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bearit. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry. I speak as to wise men; judge yewhat I say.”1 John 3:1: “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, thatwe should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because itknew Him not.”1 John 2:15-17: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyman love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, thelust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, butis of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth thewill of God abideth forever.”2 Peter 2:20: “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through theknowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, andovercome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.”284
