In his business deal with his fellow men he willhave <strong>the</strong> fear of God be<strong>for</strong>e him, and will love his neighbor as himself, and will dealjust as he would wish to be dealt by. His conversation will be truthful, chaste, and ofso elevating a character that unbelievers cannot take advantage of it, or say evil of himjustly, and are not disgusted with his uncourteous ways and unbecoming speech. Hewill carry <strong>the</strong> sanctifying influence of <strong>the</strong> truth into his family and let his light so shinebe<strong>for</strong>e <strong>the</strong>m that <strong>the</strong>y by seeing his good works may glorify God. He will in all <strong>the</strong>walks of life exemplify <strong>the</strong> life of Christ.The law of God will be satisfied with nothing short of perfection, of perfect andentire obedience to all its claims. To come halfway to its requirements, and not renderperfect and thorough obedience, will avail nothing. The worldling and <strong>the</strong> infideladmire consistency and have ever been powerfully convicted that God was of a truthwith His people when <strong>the</strong>ir works correspond with <strong>the</strong>ir faith. “By <strong>the</strong>ir fruits ye shallknow <strong>the</strong>m.” Every tree is known by its own fruits. Our words, our actions, are <strong>the</strong>fruit we bear. There are many who hear <strong>the</strong> sayings of Christ, but do <strong>the</strong>m not. Theymake a profession, but <strong>the</strong>ir fruits are such as to disgust unbelievers. They are boastful,and pray and talk in a self-righteous manner, exalting <strong>the</strong>mselves, recounting <strong>the</strong>ir gooddeeds, and, like <strong>the</strong> Pharisee, virtually thanking God that <strong>the</strong>y are not as o<strong>the</strong>r men. Yet<strong>the</strong>se very ones are crafty, and overreach in business deal. Their fruits are not good.Their words and acts are wrong, and yet <strong>the</strong>y seem to be blinded to <strong>the</strong>ir destitute,wretched condition.I was shown that <strong>the</strong> following scripture is applicable to those who are under such adeception: “Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into <strong>the</strong> kingdomof heaven; but he that doeth <strong>the</strong> will of My Fa<strong>the</strong>r which is in heaven. Many will sayto Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in Thy name? and in Thy namehave cast416
