II. trustee dutIes and resPonsIBIlItIes
the duties of the trustees are derived from their legal, 25 and fiduciary obligations,
26 and the trustees’ personal commitments. they are charted in
the “Trustees Duties Policy” 27 as follows: 28
I. Mission, Program and Strategic Planning
1.0 Define and approve the institutional mission statement, core values, and program
priorities.
2.0 Work with the President to help develop, implement, and monitor the strategic
plan.
3.0 Support the President and the strategic plan.
II. Legal and Financial
1.0 Ensure compliance with the legal and financial requirements that govern the
Institution.
2.0 Select the President and provide support and advice, as may be necessary,
within the shared governance structure of the Institution. The President is responsible
for carrying out the policies approved by the Board, and reports to the Board
as requested. The Board periodically reviews the performance of the President,
who serves at the pleasure of the Board.
3.0 Approve the annual budgets, and monitor revenues and expenditures.
4.0 Oversee the investment policies, and the performance of the endowment funds.
