serge hadji-Mihaloglou chairs anatolia’s Board Governance committee and has<br />
served the school since 1974 as the first thessalonian alumnus trustee. he is a<br />
member of the new York Bar and was formerly senior counsel of trW Inc. an<br />
anatolia graduate (’60), he also graduated from the state university of new York<br />
at Buffalo (B.a.), Michigan state university law school (J.d.), and new York<br />
university law school (ll.M. in International law).<br />

the author appreciates the opportunities he had to discuss and work governance<br />
issues with John h. (“Jack”) clymer, Jr., esq., Board chair, and albert h. (“chip”)<br />
elfner, III, his co-chair on the subcommittee on trustees which evolved into the<br />
Board Governance committee. notably, the subcommittee’s report and recomendations<br />
on Governance in May 2010 was the starting point and foundation<br />
of this work.<br />
Jack clymer is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and practices in Boston with<br />
the law firm of nixon Peabody and previously with hutchins, Wheeler & dittmar.<br />
he is named in Best Lawyers in America in the trusts and estates field and has a<br />
long record of pro bono service to nPo’s, including the anatolia Board since<br />
1981. he received a B.a. degree in american civilization from Princeton university<br />
and a J.d. degree from harvard law school.<br />
chip elfner is a former ceo of Keystone Investments with more than thirty<br />
years’ experience in investment management. he is a former trustee of Middlebury<br />
college, where he chaired the Budget and finance committee, and was also<br />
a trustee of Middlesex school, as well as other nPo’s. he has served anatolia<br />
since 1986 and is a graduate of Middlesex, Middlebury, and the harvard aMP<br />
and is a chartered financial analyst (cfa).<br />
Many other anatolians and friends of the school, starting with the author’s distinguished<br />
classmate, and former trustee, thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris,<br />
the first alumnus (’60) to be elected Mayor of thessaloniki, also contributed to<br />
making this Presentation possible. they are identified as their roles are noted. the<br />
author is grateful to each and all.
