and contemplates a shared governance structure with a “Symvoulio Idrymatos”<br />

(“Institutional Council”) and a dean/executive. as the draft law or Bill was<br />

proposed, the council has oversight and audit responsibilities and is composed of<br />

9-15 members depending on the institution’s size. the majority consists of professors<br />

elected from the faculty. they elect the outside members.<br />

the dean is elected by the faculty based on a short list of 3 candidates composed<br />

by the council following a public search. the dean, together with the “Synglitos”<br />

(“Faculty Council”), are responsible for academic affairs. a private law<br />

legal person reporting to the council will be formed to manage assets and r & d.<br />

covered a very wide scope of reforms beyond board structure provisions. It has<br />

been hailed as one of the most significant legislative pieces and crucial to long<br />
