as was acting President dr. Panos vlachos. the author aimed at a broad coverage
or treatment of the subject extending from boiler plate to specialized law in order
to anticipate widely varying audience backgrounds. hopefully, not everything will
be “old news” to everyone.
12. the President serves as the lead administrator of anatolia’s three educational
divisions: anatolia high school (including the International Baccalaureate or IB
Program), anatolia elementary school, and the american college of thessaloniki
or act.
anatolia’s 10 th President was dr. hans Giesecke. he was appointed in august
2009 and served through July 2012. at the present, dr. Panos vlachos is the acting
President. Prior to this appointment dr. vlachos was vice President for academic
affairs of anatolia college and Provost of act having served the Institution for
20 years in leadership positions as a teacher and administrator. he holds a B.s. in
Mathematics from the aristotle university of thessaloniki and an M.sc. in Mathematics
and a Ph.d. in applied Mathematical sciences from the university of
rhode Island.
13. Yiannis tsorbatzoglou (’86), vP administration, assisted in reviewing the
Institution’s community organizations. the membership associations of thessaloniki
alumni (ΣΑΑΚ), friends, and Parents (for each of the schools and the high
school’s divisions), as well as the athens alumni are independent legal entities
(somatia). nonetheless, they are very much part of the life of the Institution. their
activities are reported in ΣΑaΚ’s quarterly Anatolia Alumnus journal.
