‘Garden of Europe’
Keukenhof, Netherlands
A Spectacle Display
of Unparalleled Beauty
Just imagine visiting plots of land garlanded with various types of flowers that create an undulating
sea of vibrant colours. That’s the glorification of the tulip festival at Keukenhof, Netherlands. Proud
producer of about 7 million tulips per year, Keukenhof opens its door to visitors around late March to
mid-May each year with this year falling on 24 March to 16 May 2016.
Since its opening in 1950, Keukenhof has grown into a world-famous attraction. The park covers an
expansive 32 hectares and gathers over 800,000 visitors per year with 75 per cent of them coming
from abroad. Dubbed as one of the world’s largest flower gardens, Keukenhof displays more than 20
flower shows over eight weeks every year - aptly earning the title ‘Garden of Europe’.
