Malindo Air Now
Calls KLIA Home!
Starting from 15 March 2016, Malindo Air
will be moving its flight operations to KL
International Airport (KLIA) Main terminal
from klia2 terminal. The ATR72-600 turboprop
operations from Lapangan Terbang
Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Subang (LTSAAS –
Subang Skypark) however, are not affected
by the relocation.
Commenting on the move, Chandran Rama
Muthy, Chief Executive Officer of Malindo Air
said, “We are looking forward to relocating
from klia2 to KLIA Main. We hope that in the
long term we will be able to contribute
positively to the growth of the nation’s aviation
and tourism industries and boost the
economic growth of the country further. All
our guests will be notified accordingly in due
time, to ensure a smooth migration.”
Plus, Malindo Air’s move to KLIA has received
a positive feedback from Malaysia Airports.
“As Malindo Air evolves its business model
from a hybrid to a full service airline, there
are many premium services demanded by
its business class passengers which are more
available at KLIA Main. They also require a
shorter turnaround time for the transfers in
their cooperative engagement with the
foreign carriers operating out of KLIA
Main. Malaysia Airports is pleased
to facilitate Malindo Air’s change
in business requirements,”
said Datuk Badlisham
Ghazali, Managing
Director of Malaysia
Airports.
Not only that, Malindo
Air's move is also in line
with one of the strategic
priorities identified in
Malaysia Airports’ fiveyear
business plan
(Runway to Success
2020), which is to assist
airlines in increasing their
connectivity into KUL Hub
and enhance the seamless
inter and intra transfers at both
KLIA Main and klia2 terminals.
*Malindo Air's sister company, Lion
Air, will also make its move to KLIA from
klia2 starting from 15 March 2016.
Malindo Air Flies
to Lahore, Pakistan
Malindo Air will commence direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Lahore, Pakistan
from 3 March 2016 and it is the only Malaysia-based airline to operate on this route.
Offering four flights per week, Malindo Air departs from KL International
Airport (klia2) on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 5.30pm
and touches down at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore at 8.15pm.
Meanwhile, the return flight departs from Lahore at 9.05pm and lands in
klia2 at 5.50am the next day. The flight duration from klia2 to Lahore is
about 5 hours and 45 minutes.
"The route will signify one of our furthest routes from Kuala Lumpur using
our young fleet of Boeing 737-900ER aircraft," said Chandran Rama
Muthy, CEO of Malindo Air. He also added that Malaysians and transiting
visitors from neighbouring Singapore can now look forward to a smooth
flight to Lahore via Kuala Lumpur, whether it is for business, leisure or
religious purposes.
Malindo Air currently offers flights to at least 23 international destinations.
