When to go: March
Come witness the beauty of two million
blossoming cherry trees that turn Jerte Valley into white
every spring. Truly a real natural wonder, the cherry trees
cover the mountainsides with its impressive swathes of
white over the second fortnight of March. The
downside of it is that it has a short flowering period,
lasting only about 10 days in which its duration
where it starts blooming and ends varies
according to previous winter’s weather. So, be
sure to come at the right time by checking
up on its weather update.

When to go: May to June
There is nothing quite like the sight and smell of
blooms in Northumberland, especially when the red
poppies start to bloom. You will see millions of vibrant,
red poppies slowly lighting up Northumberland’s
verdant hills come spring; a scene much alike a
portrait. Poppies usually reach full bloom in
late spring and early summer, which means
that you will have plenty of time to see the
red poppies growing in all its
glory.

your fix. If you are travelling in Algarve during spring or
early summer, you will be in for an amazing display of
wildflowers on its clifftops, river valleys, mountain
pastures and woodlands; blooming everywhere,
literally. The wildflowers that you can see here
are mostly wild orchid species as well as other
spring bulbs such as narcissi, scillas, irises,
daisies and pretty flowers like Algarve
Toadflax, Bellardia and Wild
Gladiolus.
