When to go: July to September<br />

India’s Valley of Flowers National Park is a world heritage<br />

site nestled within the West Himalaya. This picturesque place is<br />

renowned for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers,<br />

running streams and a towering mountain as its backdrop.<br />

A park rich in plenty of invaluable biodiversity treasure,<br />

it is also home to rare and endangered animals<br />

which include the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard,<br />

brown bear and blue sheep. The best months to<br />

explore the splendour this magnificent place<br />

has to offer are from July to September, when<br />

the valley is in full bloom.<br />

Umbria,<br />

When to go: May to early June<br />

Known as the “Green Heart of Italy”, the<br />

countryside of Umbria is beautiful all year round. Much<br />

like a portrait, the place is garlanded with flowers and lush<br />

greeneries that are coupled with agreeable weather that<br />

is neither too hot nor cold; it is spring after all. Here<br />

you can also visit Monti Sibillini National Park for<br />

its famous wild flowers, but you will have to wait<br />

till early June for the best view. Alternatively,<br />

you can explore a medieval hilltop town like<br />

Spoleto for gorgeous views of the rolling,<br />

verdant countryside.<br />

When to go: April<br />

Thousands of visitors flock to Skagit Valley’s Tulip<br />

Festival each spring for its acres and acres of brightly<br />

coloured tulips and stunning display gardens. The valley<br />

turns into a pretty landscape when the flowers start to<br />

blossom for two weeks straight. With various<br />

activities and events lined up, this tulip festival is<br />

definitely a fun celebration for all. Additionally,<br />

you can do a scenic drive through the valley<br />

and experience the art of farming during<br />

the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival and<br />

throughout the year.<br />
