AirAsia X
Returns to New Zealand!
Now Everyone Can Discover The Land
of the Kiwis At An Affordable Fare!
Airlines
Beginning March 22, AirAsia X will be
flying to Auckland, New Zealand from
Kuala Lumpur with a stopover at Gold
Coast, Australia. The scheduled daily
flights will mark the return of the low-cost
carrier to New Zealand. It is foreseen
that this will strengthen the airline’s
connectivity between Asia, Australia and
the North Island of New Zealand.
“New Zealand is a world class destination
that has always had a special place in
our hearts. We are excited to be back in
this beautiful country to launch this
service, allowing seamless connection
for our guests from all over Asia to
Auckland city. Similarly, New Zealanders
will now have more flight options to Gold
Coast as well as access to all the exciting
destinations across our extensive flight
network in Asia through the Kuala
Lumpur hub. We are confident that our
highly competitive fares will attract many
new guests from the region, creating
higher travel demand and in turn
boosting tourism traffic for all sectors,”
says Benyamin Ismail, Chief Executive
Officer of AirAsia X Berhad.
You know what this means? This means
that guests can now plan and discover
New Zealand at an affordable fare! As
the Kuala Lumpur to Auckland flight is
not a direct route, guests can have the
option to do a stopover at Gold Coast
for a couple of days before making their
way to Auckland via the Multi-City option,
thus allowing greater travel flexibility.
Also known as Aotearoa in native Maori
tongue, which means the Land of the
Long White Cloud, New Zealand is
renowned for its breathtaking natural
sceneries and distinctive Maori culture.
The country has two main islands – North
and South Island – and Auckland is its
capital city. Auckland is located at the
North Island and offers a wide array of
attractions which include Sky Tower, the
magnificent volcanic crater at Mount
Eden, Rangitoto Island and many more.
AirAsia X clinched the World's Best Low
AirAsia
To Fly More Passengers
AirAsia is aiming to fly an additional
three million passengers on top of the
current 1.6 million passengers to
Langkawi over the next five years. The
substantial increase is necessary to meet
the potential demand of traffic to the
holiday island.
To achieve the target, Group Chief
Executive Officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes
said that the airline will be looking into
connecting more international routes to
Langkawi and these include places such
as Hong Kong, Jakarta and Shanghai.
"We appreciate the trust given to
develop this secondary airport and grow
Langkawi to be one of the region’s
key tourism destinations. By making
Langkawi an international hub, we are
confident we can boost the tourism traffic
in this island," Fernandes added.
Amongst those present to welcome the
inaugural flight from Guangzhou, China
to Langkawi were Prime Minister Dato’
Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak and
Minister of Transport, Dato’ Sri Liow
Tiong Lai.
