“Oh, Benjamin Harrison” is the boastful campaign song for the Republican<br />

candidate in the period film musical <strong>The</strong> One and Only, Genuine,<br />

Original Family Band (1968). Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman wrote<br />

the rousing number, which was sung by a group of Dakota Republicans on<br />

election night of 1888 as a response to the Democrats’ campaign song for<br />

Grover Cleveland, titled “Let’s Put It Over with Grover.”<br />

“Oh Fleecy Cloud” is the musical ode to nature written by Charles Wolcott<br />

(music), T. Hee, and Erdman Penner (lyric) for the animated film <strong>The</strong><br />

Reluctant Dragon (1941). When the doddering knight Sir Giles (voice of<br />

Claude Allister) comes upon the Dragon and learns that the passive creature<br />

likes to write poetry, the knight shares one of his own odes with him,<br />

talk-singing this bucolic poem with great rapture.<br />

“Oh Sing, Sweet Nightingale” is the operatic aria by Al Hoffman, Mack<br />

David, and Jerry Livingston that is used in contrasting ways in the animated<br />

movie Cinderella (1950). <strong>The</strong> Ugly Stepsisters (voices of Rhoda Williams<br />

and Lucille Bliss) practice vocalizing and playing the flute in the music<br />

room, destroying the music and shattering the ears. At the same time,<br />

Cinderella (Ilene Woods) is downstairs scrubbing the floor and singing the<br />

same aria, her lovely voice lifting up like the soap bubbles rising from her<br />

bucket. This was the first time the <strong>Disney</strong> artists used the technique of<br />
