“Take the Money and Run” is the rapid rhythm-and-blues spoof written
by Randy Petersen, Kevin Quinn, and Cheri Steinkellner for the animated
film Teacher’s Pet (2004), based on the 2000 television series. When
the dog-turned-human Scott (voice of Nathan Lane) and his boy master
Leonard (Shaun Fleming) collect a $500 reward for finding a lost dog, the
two go on a spending spree, while Jack Sheldon sings the number on the
soundtrack.
“Talent Round-Up Day” is the western theme song by George Bruns
(music) and Gil George (lyric) used for Fridays on the television series The
Mickey Mouse Club (1955). Jimmie Dodd and the Mouseketeers appear in
cowboy and cowgirl outfits and sing that Friday is the day for a rodeo of talent.
The song has a square dance pattern, and the Mouseketeers either ride
artificial horses or do a two-step dance as they get ready to perform in the
roundup. The number is sometimes listed as “Round-Up Rodeo.” The song
was pastiched years later as “Woody’s Roundup” in the computer-animated
film Toy Story 2 (1999).
“TaleSpin Theme” is the Caribbean-flavored theme song for the animated
television series TaleSpin (1990), about the colorful Kit Cloudkicker,
who flies his plane through various adventures in the tropics. Michael and
Patty Silversher wrote the lively calypso number, filled with tribal sounds,
