“Fa La La La Fallen in Love” is the doo-wop-flavored number written<br />

by Walter Edgar Kennon for the animated video sequel <strong>The</strong> Hunchback of<br />

Notre Dame II (2002). Laverne (singing voice of Mary Jay Clough), Victor<br />

(Charles Kimbrough), and Hugo (Jason Alexander), the gargoyles who<br />

perch atop the cathedral, are thrilled to see their friend Quasimodo in love<br />

and sing this catchy song of celebration, which is soon picked up by the<br />

citizens of Paris and is heard across the city.<br />

“Fabulous” is the satiric list song that itemizes the priorities of the selfcentered,<br />

spoiled teenager Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) in the television sequel<br />

High School Musical 2 (2007). Sitting by the pool at her family’s country<br />

club, Sharpay sings of the shallow things that mean the most to her, and she<br />

is joined by her clueless brother Ryan, (Lucas Grabeel), and her two toadies.<br />

<strong>The</strong> number soon grows into an elaborate production number in and<br />

around the swimming pool. David Lawrence and Faye Greenberg wrote<br />

the wry and revealing character song.<br />

“Family” is the easygoing soft-shoe number about mutual appreciation<br />

and camaraderie written by Randy Newman for James and the Giant Peach<br />

(1996), the movie fantasy that mixed live-action and stop-motion animation.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Grasshopper (voice of Simon Callow) plays his violin and sings the song<br />

to the orphaned James (Paul Terry) as they float through the sky on the<br />
