OF TERMS<br />
Adequacy: In terms of income, reflecting belief about the amount of resources<br />
needed to achieve a particular standard of living 115 <br />
Assistance <strong>for</strong> Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD): An Ontario government<br />
program that provides financial support <strong>for</strong> low- to moderate-income families to<br />
cover some of the extra costs of caring <strong>for</strong> a child who has a severe disability 116 <br />
Assistive Devices Program: An Ontario government program that helps<br />
people with long-term physical disabilities pay <strong>for</strong> customized equipment<br />
(eg, wheelchairs, hearing aids) and specialized supplies 117 <br />
Board and Lodge: For the purposes of social assistance, a boarding situation in<br />
which an individual receives food and shelter from the same source, not including<br />
an emergency shelter 118 <br />
Canada Child Benefit (CCB): A tax-free monthly payment made by the federal<br />
government to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children<br />
under 18 years of age. The CCB can include the child disability benefit and any<br />
related provincial and territorial programs, such as the Ontario Child Benefit 119 <br />
