The Duurzaamheidsfabriek is focused on susta<strong>in</strong>able<br />
technology, with maritime technology and energy<br />
transition <strong>in</strong> specific. Here, education is given to<br />
young and old. The shared mach<strong>in</strong>ery and test<strong>in</strong>g facilities,<br />
owned by companies and/or schools, give <strong>the</strong><br />
opportunity to test products and produce knowledge<br />
at a high level. As such, <strong>the</strong> factory is an important<br />
spill <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> regional economy that br<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong> a lot of <strong>in</strong>novation<br />
for and with <strong>the</strong> maritime mak<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>dustry.<br />
Why is this an <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g circular <strong>in</strong>itiative for<br />
circular ports?<br />
<strong>Circular</strong> economy requires new jobs and skills. The<br />
relation between companies, knowledge <strong>in</strong>stitutes<br />
and ‘new jobs’ is relevant to fur<strong>the</strong>r circularity <strong>in</strong><br />
city ports.
