Commuters<br />

Commuters may purchase any dining membership,<br />

but are not required to do so.<br />

Deacon Dollars<br />

In addition to a dining membership, students<br />

may a<strong>ls</strong>o purchase Deacon Dollars. The Deacon<br />

Dollar account is a debit account system<br />

on the student I.D. card that allows purchases<br />

throughout campus. An amount of $1,000<br />

per semester is recommended for campus<br />

purchases at the Bookstore, Pizza Hut, Benson<br />

Food Court, Subway, convenience stores, and<br />

all other dining locations.<br />

Other Charges/Fees<br />

An admission application fee of $40 is required<br />

with each application for admission to cover<br />

the cost of processing and is nonrefundable.<br />

An admission deposit of $500 is required for<br />

students applying to <strong>Wake</strong> <strong>Forest</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

as a first or single choice. An admission<br />

deposit of $300 is required for all regularly<br />

admitted students. All admissions deposits<br />

must be submitted to the director of admissions<br />

and are nonrefundable. The applicable<br />

deposit is credited to the student’s charges<br />

for the semester for which he or she has been<br />

accepted for admission.<br />

Individual instruction music fees are required<br />

in addition to tuition for students enrolling<br />

for individual study in applied music in the<br />

Department of Music and are payable in the<br />

Office of Financial and Accounting Services.<br />

The fee is $260 for MUS 161 courses and $520<br />

for all other individual instruction courses,<br />

with a maximum fee of $520 per semester.<br />

P R O C E D U R E S 24<br />

Library fees are charged for lost or damaged<br />

books and are payable in the library.<br />

A tuition deposit of $500 is required by March<br />

15 of students enrolled in the spring semester<br />

who expect to return for the fall semester. It<br />

is credited to the student’s <strong>University</strong> charges<br />

and is non-refundable.<br />

Returned check fee of $25 is charged for each<br />

returned check by the Office of Financial and<br />

Accounting Services.<br />

Room change fee of $25 is charged for any<br />

unauthorized change.<br />

Improper check-in/out residence hall fee of $50 is<br />

charged for any student who does not follow<br />

appropriate administrative procedures.<br />

A residence hall lock core change fee (a minimum<br />

of $70 per lock) is charged to any student who<br />

loses his/her room/suite/apartment key(s).<br />

For students studying abroad in a non-<strong>Wake</strong><br />

<strong>Forest</strong> program a fee of $1,250 is required.<br />

Motor vehicle registration for the school year for<br />

freshmen/first-year students is $200. For upperclassmen,<br />

the registration fee is $300. Traffic<br />

fines range from $20 to $250. All students<br />

operating a vehicle on campus, whether they<br />

are operating day or night and whether or not<br />

they are owned by the operator, (including<br />

those students who reside in student apartments,<br />

theme, and satellite houses) must<br />

register their vehicles online.<br />

Vehicle registrations must be completed<br />

within 24 hours from the first time the vehicle<br />

is brought to campus. For fall semester only,<br />

students registering vehicles online by August<br />

15 will receive their deca<strong>ls</strong> at their campus<br />

mailboxes by August 31, 2006. For a vehicle to<br />

be properly registered, both the rear bumper<br />

decal and front windshield gate pass decal<br />

must be displayed.<br />

Fines are assessed against students violating<br />

parking regulations. Please inform any<br />

visitors of parking rules and regulations.<br />
