The Study Abroad Scholarship assists students<br />
with a minimum 3.0 grade point average<br />
through application with the Center for International<br />
Studies.<br />
The Robert L. Sullivan Fund may be used to<br />
assist students in the biology major.<br />
The Amos Arthur Swann Scholarship assists<br />
needy students from Sevier County, TN, or<br />
other Tennessee counties.<br />
The Ralph Judson Sykes Scholarship assists North<br />
Carolinians based on need, moral character,<br />
and Christian fellowship.<br />
The Saddye Stephenson & Benjamin Louis Sykes<br />
Scholarship is awarded based on Christian<br />
character, academic proficiency, and need,<br />
with preference to first-year students from<br />
North Carolina.<br />
The Walter Low Tatum Scholarship in Mathematics<br />
provides in alternate years a renewable<br />
merit scholarship. The stipends of $500 each<br />
for the first two years are replaced by $5,000<br />
awards in each of the last two years, provided<br />
that the recipient fulfil<strong>ls</strong> the expectation to enroll<br />
in and maintain a major in mathematics.<br />
The Augustine John Taylor & Roby Ellis Taylor<br />
Accountancy Scholarship assists accountancy<br />
students, with preference to students with<br />
a permanent residence within fifty miles of<br />
Winston-Salem. Application is made through<br />
the Wayne Calloway School of Business and<br />
Accountancy.<br />
The H. Howell Taylor Jr. Risk Management Scholarship<br />
assists students interested in a career<br />
in risk management. Application is made<br />
through the Wayne Calloway School of Business<br />
and Accountancy.<br />
The Russell Taylor Scholarship assists an entering<br />
first-year student with a distinguished<br />
record in citizenship and scholarship. Preference<br />
is given to students planning careers in<br />
the areas of religion or law, students exemplifying<br />
positive principles of the Christian faith,<br />
needy students, and students from Iredell<br />
County, NC.<br />

The Thomas C. Taylor Scholarship Fund for<br />
International Studies assists accountancy<br />
majors studying outside the U.S., or studying<br />
international studies within the U.S., based on<br />
integrity, compassion, cooperativeness, and a<br />
record of academic achievement. Application<br />
is made through the Wayne Calloway School<br />
of Business and Accountancy.<br />
The Teague Scholarship assists needy students<br />
interested in entrepreneurism. Application is<br />
made through the Wayne Calloway School of<br />
Business and Accountancy.<br />
The Fred N. Thompson Sr. Scholarship assists<br />
needy students, with preference to residents<br />
of Virginia counties south and east of the city<br />
of Richmond.<br />
The Lowell & Anne Smith Tillett Scholarship assists<br />
students studying in, or whose residence<br />
is located in, Central and Eastern Europe,<br />
Russia, and other countries in the former<br />
Soviet Union. Application is made through<br />
the Center for International Studies.<br />
The Harold Wayland & Nelle Futch Tribble Scholarship<br />
assists students with superior academic<br />
ability.<br />
The George Ne<strong>ls</strong>on Turner Scholarship assists<br />
students based on leadership ability and<br />
merit, with preference to those from North<br />
Carolina, who graduated from a public high<br />
school, who were academically ranked in the<br />
top third of the high school class, who lettered<br />
in a varsity sport while attending high school,<br />
and who participate in Christian religious and<br />
community service activities. Need is considered<br />
but is not a required or controlling factor.<br />
The Tyner-Pitman Scholarship assists needy<br />
North Carolinians.<br />

Memorial Scholarship assists students studying<br />
Italian in the Department of Romance<br />
Languages.
