The Mark Christopher Pruitt Scholarship assists<br />

a junior or senior premedical student and<br />

a member of the Delta Omega Chapter of<br />

Kappa Sigma Fraternity, based on need and<br />

merit.<br />

The H. Ray Pullium Scholarship is awarded<br />

based on ability and need, with preference<br />

to students from North Carolina Baptist<br />

Children’s Homes.<br />

The Beulah Lassiter and Kenneth Tyson Raynor<br />

Scholarship assists students in mathematics<br />

and English. Application is made through<br />

these two departments.<br />

The Redwine Scholarship assists needy students.<br />

The Mark H. Reece Sr. Scholarship, established<br />

by John E. Reece II, assists needy students,<br />

with preference to student athletes participating<br />

in a varsity sport.<br />

The Reifler Family Scholarship assists needy<br />

students with artistic ability, with preference<br />

first to students who have declared or intend<br />

to declare a major in studio art and second<br />

to students who have declared or intend to<br />

declare a minor in studio art.<br />

The Oliver D. & Caroline Revell Scholarship assists<br />

needy preministerial students or needy<br />

students entering full-time Christian service.<br />

The Revelle Family Scholarship assists needy<br />

students from Northampton and Hertford<br />

Counties, with second preference to students<br />

from other areas of northeastern North<br />

Carolina.<br />

The Reynolds North Carolina Scholarship, established<br />

by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation,<br />

assists needy North Carolinians from middle<br />

income families.<br />

The William & Treva Richardson Scholarship assists<br />

undergraduate students.<br />

The Gerald & Stephanie Roach Scholarship<br />

assists up to four incoming students up to<br />

$4,000 each to replace loan funding, based on<br />

academic merit and need greater than $25,000<br />

per year, with preference to North Carolina<br />

residents.<br />

The Roy O. Rodwell Sr. Scholarship assists a student<br />

each year up to the cost of tuition, with<br />

preference to North Carolinians.<br />

The George D. Rovere Scholarship assists a student<br />

planning to become an athletic trainer.<br />

The Joe & Frances Rowell Scholarship gives<br />

preference to needy and meritorious students<br />

from the Bristol, TN, area.<br />

The William Royall Scholarship assists classical<br />

studies students, with preference to students<br />

planning travel to classical sites. Application<br />

is made through the Department of Classical<br />

Languages.<br />

The Mike & Debbie Rubin Scholarship assists<br />

needy students with a declared or intended<br />

major in the College of Arts & Sciences.<br />

The William Lee Rudd & Ruth Crosby Rudd<br />

Scholarship assists worthy and needy students<br />

majoring in religion.<br />

The W. D. Sanders Scholarship is awarded<br />

for language study in Germany or Austria,<br />

to sophomores, juniors, or seniors who<br />

have completed German 153 or above. The<br />

scholarship is designated in order of priority,<br />

for summer language study, semester or year<br />

programs with the Institute of European<br />

Studies (IES), or junior year abroad programs<br />

with other institutions. Application is made<br />

through the Department of German and<br />

Russian.<br />

The Scales International Studies Scholarship<br />

supports study outside the United States.<br />

Application is made through the Center for<br />

International Studies.
