The Lowden Family Scholarship assists needy<br />
students with preference first to students from<br />
Montgomery County and second to students<br />
from Anson, Stanly, Davidson, Randolph,<br />
Moore, or Richmond Counties, NC.<br />
The Lowe’s Food Scholarship assists students in<br />
the Wayne Calloway School of Business and<br />
Accountancy on the basis of merit and with<br />
preference to students from North Carolina<br />
and Virginia. Application is made through<br />
the Wayne Calloway School of Business and<br />
Accountancy.<br />
The MacAnderson Scholarship assists students<br />
studying a foreign language, preferably at<br />
a university in Europe. Application is made<br />
through the financial aid office.<br />
The Dr. George C. Mackie Sr. Scholarship assists<br />
junior and senior premedical students based<br />
on need and merit.<br />
The Heather Ann Maier Scholarship assists<br />
needy Christian students, with preference to<br />
female students from Maryland, Delaware,<br />
Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut,<br />
or the District of Columbia, who are<br />
interested in pursuing a career in a businessrelated<br />
field.<br />
The Elton W. Manning Scholarship assists students<br />
based on need and merit, with preference<br />
to students from eastern North Carolina.<br />
The Lex Marsh Scholarship assists North Carolinians<br />
based on need and merit.<br />
The James Capel Mason Scholarship assists worthy<br />
students.<br />
The Burke M. McConnell Management Excellence<br />
Scholarship assists the senior in the Wayne Calloway<br />
School of Business and Accountancy<br />
with the highest grade point average. Application<br />
is made through the Wayne Calloway<br />
School of Business and Accountancy.<br />
The Wilma L. McCurdy Memorial Scholarship is<br />
awarded on the basis of character, academic<br />
standing, and need.<br />

The Thane Edward McDonald and Marie Dayton<br />
McDonald Memorial Scholarship assists a music<br />
student. Application is made to the Department<br />
of Music.<br />
The James McDougald Scholarship assists students<br />
first from Robeson County and second<br />
from Scotland County, NC, on the basis of<br />
leadership and ethics, academic preparation,<br />
desire, community pride, and financial need.<br />
The McGladrey & Pullen Scholarship assists a senior<br />
accountancy major based on merit, need,<br />
and interest in public accounting. Application<br />
is made through the Wayne Calloway School<br />
of Business and Accountancy.<br />
The Robert A. & Margaret Pope McIntyre Scholarship<br />
gives preference to students from Robeson<br />
County, NC.<br />
The Bernard F. McLeod Jr. Scholarship assists<br />
students from middle income families, with<br />
preference to North Carolinians.<br />
The Medlin Scholarship assists students from<br />
middle income families with preference to<br />
North Carolinians.<br />
The Jasper L. Memory Scholarship assists<br />
students selected by the Department of<br />
Education.<br />
The Ted & Nancy Meredith Scholarship assists<br />
art majors who are taking, or planning to<br />
take, courses or studies in studio art, and who<br />
demonstrate strong academic performance,<br />
diligence, integrity, character, and leadership.<br />
Need is a consideration but not a required or<br />
controlling factor.<br />
The Robert Lee Middleton Scholarship is awarded<br />
based on character, purpose, intelligence, and<br />
need, with preference to a student planning<br />
to enter the field of literature, accountancy,<br />
teaching, or the gospel ministry or other fulltime<br />
religious work.<br />
The Mildred Bronson Miller Scholarship assists<br />
students based on leadership, dedication,<br />
competitiveness, and citizenship.
