and interests of Eleanor Layfield Davis.<br />

The Mrs. Paul Price Davis Scholarship assists<br />

North Carolina students, with preference<br />

to residents of Baptist Children’s Homes of<br />

North Carolina.<br />

The Thomas H. Davis Business Scholarship assists<br />

a senior business major based on academic<br />

achievement, need, and potential for business<br />

leadership. Application is made through the<br />

Wayne Calloway School of Business and<br />

Accountancy.<br />

The Otis William Deese Presidential Scholarship<br />

is awarded to needy students as a supplement<br />

to the Presidential Scholarships for Distinguished<br />

Achievement.<br />

The Robert H. Demsey Scholarship assists needy<br />

undergraduate students, with preference to<br />

business or accountancy majors.<br />

The John & Margaret Newett Dixon Scholarship<br />

assists needy students, with preference<br />

to students pursuing a master’s degree in<br />

accountancy. Application is made through<br />

the Wayne Calloway School of Business and<br />

Accountancy.<br />

The Justus & Elizabeth S. Drake Scholarship assists<br />

an English major with ability and need,<br />

upon the recommendation of the English<br />

department.<br />

The Barry & Ann Griffin Driggs Scholarship<br />

assists juniors or seniors majoring in mathematics,<br />

with preference to those with need, a<br />

meritorious academic record, and an interest<br />

in applied mathematics.<br />

The Kate Dunn–Florence Weaver Scholarship<br />

primarily assists North Carolinians, with<br />

preference to women whose college careers<br />

have been interrupted by causes beyond their<br />

reasonable control, and based on academic<br />

performance, diligence, integrity, character,<br />

and leadership.<br />

The Fred H. Duvall Scholarship assists needy<br />

students.<br />

The Dean Robert Dyer Scholarship Fund for International<br />

Students assists students from countries<br />

other than the United States of America.<br />

Application is made through the Center for<br />

International Studies.<br />

The Eddins Family Scholarship assists students<br />

based on ability, character, integrity, leadership,<br />

and a desire to make a contribution in<br />

their communities, with first preference to<br />

residents of Stanly County, NC, and second<br />

preference to students from North Carolina<br />

and South Carolina.<br />

The Amanda Edwards Memorial Scholarship<br />

assists needy students with travel expenses<br />

for study abroad in the <strong>Wake</strong> <strong>Forest</strong> Venice<br />

program, with preference to students with<br />

demonstrated commitment to community<br />

service and volunteerism.
