(3) for minor home modifications, $7,500 during the time period the individual is enrolled<br />

in the HCS Program, which may be paid in one or more IPC years;<br />

(4) for respite, 300 hours during an IPC year; <strong>and</strong><br />

(5) for supported employment, 150 hours during an IPC year.<br />

§9.193. Exception to Service Limits.<br />

(a) Proposed initial IPC If an individual, LAR, or service coordinator has information<br />

demonstrating that exceeding a service limit described in §9.192(b) of this subchapter (relating to<br />

Service Limits) is necessary to meet the criteria described in §9.159(c) of this subchapter<br />

(relating to IPC), the service coordinator must request an exception to the service limit in<br />

accordance with subsection (c) of this section.<br />

(b) Proposed renewal or proposed revised IPC If an individual, LAR, or program provider has<br />

information demonstrating that exceeding a service limit described in §9.192(b) of this<br />

subchapter is necessary to meet the criteria described in §9.159(c) of this subchapter, the<br />

program provider must request an exception to the service limit in accordance with subsection<br />

(c) of this section.<br />

(c) Requesting an exception.<br />

(1) To request an exception to a service limit described in §9.192(b) of this subchapter, a<br />

service coordinator or program provider, as appropriate, must:<br />

(A) complete the Request for an Exception of Service Limit form, found at<br />

www.dads.state.tx.us, in accordance with form instructions;<br />

(B) include on the form a detailed explanation of why providing the service in excess of the<br />

service limit is necessary to meet the criteria described in §9.159(c) of this subchapter; <strong>and</strong><br />

(C) submit to DADS any additional information or documentation requested by DADS.<br />

(2) The service coordinator or program provider, as appropriate, must submit the<br />

completed Request for an Exception of Service Limit form to DADS.<br />

(A) For a proposed initial IPC, the service coordinator must submit the completed form in<br />

accordance with §9.158(n)(2) of this subchapter (relating to Process for Enrollment of<br />

Applicants); or<br />

(B) For a proposed renewal or revised IPC, the program provider must submit the completed<br />

form in accordance with §9.166(e)(2)(D) of this subchapter (relating to Renewal <strong>and</strong> Revision of<br />

an IPC).<br />

(d) DADS review of request for an exception. DADS grants an exception to a service limit if,<br />
