adaptive aid [end addition] [begin deletion] Adaptive aids [end deletion] costing less than $100<br />

[begin addition] (e) [end addition] [(d)] Minor home modifications. [begin deletion] The cost<br />

ceilings for minor home modifications are [end deletion]:<br />

(1) [begin addition] An individual may receive minor home modifications during the<br />

individual's lifetime having a maximum cost of [end addition] $7,500 [begin addition], which<br />

may be paid in one or more IPC years. [end addition] [begin deletion] in an individual's lifetime;<br />

<strong>and</strong> [end deletion]<br />

(2) [begin addition] An individual may receive, during an IPC year, a maximum of [end<br />

addition] $300 for [begin addition] repair [end addition] [begin deletion] repairs [end deletion]<br />

<strong>and</strong> maintenance [begin addition] of a minor home modification [end addition] [begin deletion]<br />

per IPC year [end deletion].<br />

[begin addition] (f) [end addition] [begin deletion] (e) [end deletion] Transition assistance<br />

services.<br />

(1) An individual may access transition assistance services only once in the individual's<br />

lifetime.<br />

(2) The cost ceiling for transition assistance services is $2,500.<br />

[begin addition] §51.232. Exception to Service Limit.<br />

(a) If the DADS case manager receives information demonstrating the need of the parent or<br />

guardian to exceed a service limit described in §51.231(b)(2) or (c)(1) of this subchapter<br />

(relating to Service Limitations), the DADS case manager determines whether providing the<br />

service in excess of the service limit is necessary to support the individual’s primary caregiver<br />

<strong>and</strong> enable the individual to remain safely in the home.<br />

(b) The DADS case manager grants an exception to a service limit if, after a review of the<br />

information received as described in subsection (a) of this section, the DADS case manager<br />

determines that providing the service in excess of the service limit is necessary to support the<br />

individual’s primary caregiver <strong>and</strong> enable the individual to remain safely in the home.<br />

(c) An exception granted under subsection (b) of this section is subject to:<br />

(1) for facility-based respite, a maximum of 29 days during an IPC year; <strong>and</strong><br />

(2) the individual cost limit as described in §51.203(7) of this subchapter (relating to<br />
