[begin addition] (b) The HCSSA must ensure that written specifications obtained in<br />

accordance with subsection (a)(3) of this section are obtained from a person with experience in<br />

home modifications<br />

(1) The HCSSA must maintain documentation that supports the written specifications.<br />

(2)The person who develops the written specifications may bid on the completion of the<br />

minor home modification.<br />

(c) [end addition] The inspection requirements are as follows:<br />

(A) The [begin addition] HCSSA [end addition] [begin deletion] HCSS provider [end<br />

deletion] must ensure that a qualified person [begin addition] conducts an inspection of the<br />

completed minor home modification in accordance with subsection (a)(6) of this section [end<br />

addition] [begin deletion] inspects completed work to ensure all work was done according to<br />

written specifications, if applicable, <strong>and</strong> the Texas Accessibility St<strong>and</strong>ards [end deletion].<br />

(B) The [begin addition] HCSSA must ensure that the [end addition] inspection [begin<br />

addition] is not [end addition] [begin deletion] may be [end deletion] performed by the [begin<br />

addition] person who prepared [end addition] [begin deletion] individual preparing [end deletion]<br />

the specifications [begin addition] obtained in accordance with subsection (a)(3) of this section<br />

[end addition], [begin deletion] but not by [end deletion] the contractor who completed the<br />

[begin addition] minor [end addition] home modification [begin addition], or [end addition]<br />

[begin deletion] nor by [end deletion] the attendant.<br />

[begin addition] (i) [end addition] The invoice cost of the inspection is reimbursable as a<br />

minor home modification up to a maximum of $150.<br />

[begin addition] (ii) [end addition] The [begin addition] HCSSA [end addition] [begin<br />

deletion] provider [end deletion] must maintain documentation to support the cost for performing<br />

the [begin addition] inspection [end addition] [begin deletion] inspections [end deletion].<br />

(C) Once the inspection is concluded <strong>and</strong> the [begin addition] minor home [end addition]<br />

modification is completed, the [begin addition] HCSSA [end addition] [begin deletion] HCSS<br />

provider [end deletion] must send a copy of the [begin addition] CBA [end addition] [begin<br />

deletion] Community Based Alternatives [end deletion] documentation of completion of<br />

purchase form to the [begin addition] DADS [end addition] case manager within seven [begin<br />

addition] DADS workdays [end addition] [begin deletion] DHS work days [end deletion] after<br />

the completion of the inspection.<br />

[begin addition] (i) The HCSSA may submit a claim to DADS for the cost of building<br />

materials before the minor home modification is completed.<br />
