(67) Specialized registered nursing--The provision of registered nursing to an individual who<br />

has a tracheostomy or is dependent on a ventilator.<br />

(68) Speech therapy--The provision of speech-language pathology as defined in Texas<br />

Occupations Code, Chapter 401.<br />

(69) Specialized therapies--<strong>Services</strong> to promote skills development, maintain skills, decrease<br />

inappropriate behaviors, facilitate emotional well-being, create opportunities for socialization, or<br />

improve physical <strong>and</strong> medical status that consist of the following:<br />

(A) aquatic therapy;<br />

(B) hippotherapy;<br />

(C) massage therapy;<br />

(D) music therapy;<br />

(F) recreational therapy; <strong>and</strong><br />

(G) therapeutic horseback riding.<br />

(70) Staff person--A full-time or part-time employee of the program provider.<br />

(71) Support consultation--A service, as defined in §41.103 of this title, that may be provided<br />

to an individual who chooses to participate in CDS.<br />

(72) Supported employment--A service that assists an individual to sustain competitive,<br />

integrated employment.<br />

(73) Support family services--<strong>Services</strong> provided to an individual under 18 years of age who<br />

resides with a support family, as described in §45.531 of this chapter, that allow the individual to<br />

reside successfully in a community setting by supporting the individual to acquire, maintain, <strong>and</strong><br />

improve self-help, socialization, <strong>and</strong> daily living skills or assisting the individual with ADLs.<br />

Support family services consist of the services described in §45.533 of this chapter.<br />

(74) Therapeutic horseback riding--The provision of therapy that:<br />

(A) involves an individual interacting with <strong>and</strong> riding on horses;<br />

(B) is designed to improve the balance, coordination, focus, independence, confidence, <strong>and</strong><br />

motor <strong>and</strong> social skills of the individual; <strong>and</strong><br />

(C) is provided by only one service provider as described in §45.803(d)(10) of this chapter.<br />
