Alderman Hall <strong>of</strong>fered the following orders and resolution,<br />

Ordered:<br />

The Commissioner <strong>of</strong> Public Buildings is hereby<br />

requested to take special attention In repairing the showerbaths at Lincoln<br />

Park Clubhouse which have been broken for two weeks.<br />

Adopted.<br />

Ordered:<br />

That the sum <strong>of</strong> flve hundred (^500) dollars be<br />

appropriated for the purpose <strong>of</strong> oiling the ball parks and playgrounds <strong>of</strong> Som-<br />

ervllle where needed to eliminate the dust storms, making it possible for<br />

people to sit there during the day and also in the evening.<br />

Amended by adding words "and play grounds" after word "parks "<br />

i'n third line and by adding words "where needed 11 after word "<strong>Somerville</strong>" in<br />

third line. Order read twice and adopted as amended.<br />

May 2*3, 19^-2. Having been presented to Mayor and returned no<br />

Ordered:<br />

That the <strong>City</strong> Engineer take the means to correct<br />

the unrestrained dumping <strong>of</strong> rubbish on the Old Suburban Company property on<br />

Dane Street which is causing vermin and if not curtailed at once will create<br />

an unhealthy condition for the smaller children <strong>of</strong> the neighborhood.<br />

Whereas:<br />

The members <strong>of</strong> this Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen have<br />

learned with sadness and regret <strong>of</strong>,the sudden death <strong>of</strong><br />

Stephen D. McDonald<br />

popular member o'f our Police Department, who served our <strong>City</strong> so efficiently<br />

and v/ell since his appointment, particularly as Day Traffic Officer in Union<br />

Square where he made so many friends by his kindness <strong>of</strong> service to the<br />

thousands <strong>of</strong> school children and others and by his genial personality, be it<br />

Resolved:<br />

That we express our sympathy to his sorrowing<br />

wife and family in this hour <strong>of</strong> loss, and be it further<br />

Resolved:<br />

Read twice and adopted.<br />

Ordered:<br />

That a copy <strong>of</strong> this resolution be sent to them<br />

That all city employees who are injured in the<br />

line <strong>of</strong> active duty and as a result <strong>of</strong> the injuries sustained are incapacitate^<br />

for a life time, be granted full pay until they reach the pension age.
