copy of these resolutions to Hoseraan Joseph E. Burns.

Whereas:
It is with regret that the members of this
Board of Aldermen receive the requeat .for .retirement this evening of Hoseman
Abijah M. Blanchard. who has faithfully and efficif*ntly_giy_en_his services
in our Fire Department, be it
Resolved:
That we extend to him at this time our appreelation
for the exemplary service he has rendered the people of our Citv. and
take pleasure in wishing him many years of happiness and good health to come,
and be it further
Resolved:
That the City Clerk be requested to send a copy
of these resolutions to Hoseman Abijah M- Blanchard.

Ordered:
That a Committee of the Whole along with police
officials be appointed to investigate the disposal of all scrap metal that
been collected in the City of Somerville, and be if further
Ordered:
That no scrap metal shall be moved until such
report by this Committee has been made on the scrap that has already been
disposed of.

Resolved:
That his Excellency, Governor Leverett Saltpnstall
of the Commonwealth be respectfully informed that it is the sense of
this Board of Aldermen, that the state owned trucks, numbering approximat e1y
2,000 in number now being held in storage, be released immediately to aid in
the collection of scrap metals Campaign now being .so vigilantly conducted'In
•this State, requiring the services of all available equipment, and be it further
Excellency, the Governor.
