meeting <strong>of</strong> Sept. 10, 19^2, further action was<br />

Taken from table and passed to second reading. Order was given<br />

second reading. Question came on final adoption. Roll call vote, 9 yes, 2 ab-<br />

sent. Order was read twice and adopted. Later a motion to reconsider was not<br />

carried.<br />

Order granting conduit to Boston Edison Co. on McQ-rath Highway, as recorded<br />

Poles and Wires <strong>of</strong> the Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong><br />

the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong>, was<br />

Alderman Moran <strong>of</strong>fered the following orders,<br />

Ordered:<br />

That the <strong>City</strong> Home, Police Station and all<br />

Fire Stations in the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Somerville</strong> be thrown open to service men, who<br />

have missed their train or bus, for the duration <strong>of</strong>-.the War.<br />

Ordered:<br />

That the Commissioner <strong>of</strong> Electric Lines and<br />

Lights reduce the candle power in all lights that have been Increased by the<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen for the duration <strong>of</strong> the war.<br />

That the <strong>City</strong>_ Solicitor confer with the Boston<br />

Edison Company regarding to the reduction <strong>of</strong> the appropriation <strong>of</strong> 19^2 allo-<br />

That all traffic lights be eliminated leaving<br />

only the flashing green lights on through ways and red lights at same inter-<br />

sections .<br />
