Alderman Kingston <strong>of</strong>fered the following order,<br />

Ordered:<br />

His honor the Mayor is requested to advertise<br />

at once for bids for the collection <strong>of</strong> garbage in view <strong>of</strong> the fact that the<br />

present contract is drawing to an end. He is further requested to advise the<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen <strong>of</strong> the result <strong>of</strong> the bids so that it'can then arrange for<br />

an appropriation <strong>of</strong> a sura sufficient to cover the cost <strong>of</strong> same for the bal-<br />

ance <strong>of</strong> the year.<br />

Alderman McEvoy <strong>of</strong>fered the following order and resolution,<br />

Ordered:<br />

The Boston Elevated Railway <strong>of</strong>ficials are here-<br />

by requested to change the present outbound Lechmere and outbound Sullivan<br />

Square stop from 1153 Broadway to in front <strong>of</strong> 1169 Broadway at Teele Square.<br />

Adopted.<br />

Resolved:<br />

That the appreciation <strong>of</strong> the people <strong>of</strong> our <strong>City</strong><br />

be extended through this Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen to the teachers, .members <strong>of</strong> our<br />

School system and others who assisted in the sugar, and gas rationing regis-<br />

tration, for their liberal sacrifice <strong>of</strong> time and their high sense <strong>of</strong> patriot-<br />

ic service and an excellent performance in an unprecendented task which re-<br />

quired patience, skill and endurance, and be it further<br />

Resolved;<br />

That a copy <strong>of</strong> this resolution be forwarded<br />

to the Superintendent <strong>of</strong> Schools and the Commissioner <strong>of</strong> Public Buildings in<br />

order that all who may have assisted may be informed <strong>of</strong> the action <strong>of</strong> this<br />

Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen. ;<br />

Alderman Moran <strong>of</strong>fered the following orders,<br />

Ordered:<br />

That the New Amsterdam Casualty Company, the<br />

surety on sign permit bond, said bond being Riven to secure the <strong>City</strong> <strong>of</strong> 3omervllle<br />

on account <strong>of</strong> e license issued on order <strong>of</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Aldermen to Artftur<br />

F. Hinde d/b/a Arthur's .Lunch,- for assign over~~t"he srdewaIK~at~35~Wa9hington<br />

Street, on January 27» 193^* t> e a" it hereby is released from further<br />

liability as surety on said bond, provided, however, that this release shall<br />

not affect or release the liability <strong>of</strong> the said surety on account <strong>of</strong> any obligation<br />

arising in connection with said bond prior to.the date <strong>of</strong> the approv<br />

al <strong>of</strong> this order by the Mayor.<br />

The said sign having been taken down, the license granted to Arthur<br />

F- Hinded/b/a Arthur f s Lunch for a sign over the sidewalk at 32 Washington<br />

Street is hereby revoked.<br />

Upon the approval <strong>of</strong> this order by the Mayor, the <strong>City</strong> Clerk is<br />
