Alderman Kingston offered the following order,
Ordered:
His honor the Mayor is requested to advertise
at once for bids for the collection of garbage in view of the fact that the
present contract is drawing to an end. He is further requested to advise the
Board of Aldermen of the result of the bids so that it'can then arrange for
an appropriation of a sura sufficient to cover the cost of same for the bal-
ance of the year.
Adopted.
Alderman McEvoy offered the following order and resolution,
Ordered:
The Boston Elevated Railway officials are here-
by requested to change the present outbound Lechmere and outbound Sullivan
Square stop from 1153 Broadway to in front of 1169 Broadway at Teele Square.
Adopted.
Resolved:
That the appreciation of the people of our City
be extended through this Board of Aldermen to the teachers, .members of our
School system and others who assisted in the sugar, and gas rationing regis-
tration, for their liberal sacrifice of time and their high sense of patriot-
ic service and an excellent performance in an unprecendented task which re-
quired patience, skill and endurance, and be it further
Resolved;
That a copy of this resolution be forwarded
to the Superintendent of Schools and the Commissioner of Public Buildings in
order that all who may have assisted may be informed of the action of this
Board of Aldermen. ;

Alderman Moran offered the following orders,
Ordered:
That the New Amsterdam Casualty Company, the
surety on sign permit bond, said bond being Riven to secure the City of 3omervllle
on account of e license issued on order of Board of Aldermen to Artftur
F. Hinde d/b/a Arthur's .Lunch,- for assign over~~t"he srdewaIK~at~35~Wa9hington
Street, on January 27» 193^* t> e a" it hereby is released from further
liability as surety on said bond, provided, however, that this release shall
not affect or release the liability of the said surety on account of any obligation
arising in connection with said bond prior to.the date of the approv
al of this order by the Mayor.
The said sign having been taken down, the license granted to Arthur
F- Hinded/b/a Arthur f s Lunch for a sign over the sidewalk at 32 Washington
Street is hereby revoked.
Upon the approval of this order by the Mayor, the City Clerk is
